Mark Peiffer, CPA, chief financial officer at Des Moines University (DMU), and Beth Brosnahan, CPA, controller at DMU, were recently surprised with a Patriot Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).
Peiffer and Brosnahan were nominated by Technical Sergeant Jeremiah Johnson, staff accountant. Johnson is a member of the Air National Guard, 132 Fighter Wing unit.
In his nomination letter, Johnson wrote, “I have 100% support from Beth and Mark. They understand the important role the Air National Guard plays, not only for the state of Iowa, but for the entire country. Without the support of my supervisors and my fellow workers, going (on a temporary duty assignment) would be much more difficult.”
