This weekend is big for DMU. Big tents, big crowds, big fun!
Tomorrow is the beginning of our first-ever all-classes, all-colleges unified Reunion. There’s lots of great things planned for alumni and their guests.
On Saturday, bright and early,we’re holding our first 5k race, the DMU Run-Day-Voo! Sign up by midnight tonight or in person Friday, Aug. 8, 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Student Education Center Alumni Court or on the day of the race, 5:30-6:20 a.m.
All weekend, our docs, students, faculty & staff will be at the Iowa State Fair doing blood pressure and BMI screenings in the Farm Bureau tent, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Sunday is my FAVORITE DMU event – DMU Day at the fair. From 8 a.m. until about 8 p.m., we’ll be on the grand concourse in a giant white tent giving away TONS of free goodies. Believe me, I just sorted all the boxes of giveaways and there are a lot! We have free pens, free hand sanitizer, free tote bags and free bandaid dispensers. Take a health quiz and get a free fabric, foldable frisbee. Plus, of course, you can pick up lots of DMU materials AND get a cool temporary tattoo that looks like sutures (see above)! Our D.O. students will give free osteopathic manipulative treatments from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the tent and in the afternoon you may have a chance to meet DMU President, Gov. Terry E. Branstad!
