DMU partners with Polk Co. Health Dept. for free foot care clinic

Students from DMU’s College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery and physicians from the DMU’s Foot & Ankle Institute will provide foot assessments, simple treatments and diabetes-screenings December 16, 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at the Polk County Health Department, 1907 Carpenter Ave. in Des Moines. They will also offer foot braces, shoe inserts or referrals for further care if necessary.

The care is free with no qualifications for participants. There are a limited number of patient slots so you are encouraged to call 515-287-3798 for a timeslot.

Whether you need your annual diabetic foot exam, have pain in your feet or fungus problems, the DMU docs and students will be happy to help.
