Des Moines, IA – Des Moines University and The YMCA of Greater Des Moines will provide a public preview of the new HBO documentary series, “The Alzheimer’s Project,” on Monday, May 4, 5-7 p.m.
The screening will be held in Des Moines University Academic Center, lecture hall 3, 3440 Grand Ave., Des Moines. It will be hosted by Yogesh Shah, M.D., director of memory care in the Des Moines University Clinic and associate dean of global health. Following the preview, Dr. Shah will lead a brief discussion, question and answer session and share information about support available in central Iowa.
Anyone interested in learning more about Alzheimer’s disease, treatment and support is welcome to attend this free event. No RSVP is needed but space is limited so an early arrival is recommended. Free parking is available behind the building.
The full four-part documentary will air in a three-night event on HBO May 10, 11 and 12. The documentary focuses on families and friends who face this terrible illness and what modern medicine is doing to diagnose, treat and prevent the disease.
