Want to strengthen your core muscles and increase flexibility? Pilates is a low-impact physical fitness routine for men and women that improves balance and posture.
Pilates classes at Des Moines University are taught by Des Moines University physical therapist Kari Smith, exercise physiologist Carol Ruby and Kristen Strong who is Stott-certified in mat Pilates. Sessions may include work with Pilates rings, mat work, BOSU or Swiss balls. You can do Tuesdays, May 12-June 30, at 4:30 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. or Thursdays, May 14-July 2 at noon.
