This is the last month you can submit work for the third edition of Abaton – get movin’!
Abaton is a literary journal produced at DMU, made up entirely of submitted art and literary pieces. We love, love, love when students, staff and alumni submit to the Abaton but a direct DMU connection is by NO means required. Whether you write fiction or non-fiction, paint or shoot photos, we’d love to have your contribution! We do ask that the subject always relate in some way to health care and/or the human condition.
This year’s issue is very, very special. The theme is tied to global health and will debut at the annual World Food Prize (WFP) ceremonies in October. Some copies of the Abaton will actually be sold at the events to raise money for the World Health Organization. (More details to come on this incredible partnership.)
I happen to know that both Ambassador Quinn of WFP and DMU’s own associate dean of global health, Dr. Shah, will have pieces in this issue!
The deadline is July 1. Can’t wait to see your work!
