There is so much going on this weekend in Des Moines! Because we have a brand new batch of students on campus (the PA class began this week!) I thought a list of some events might be helpful, so here goes…
Want to try some great BBQ, hear live tunes or enjoy a beer garden? Check out BarbeQlossal at the fairgrounds! Or maybe you’re in the mood for Greek food? Then check out the annual Greek food fair Saturday! I’m sad I can’t attend this year. I’ve been several times and it’s DELISH! Here’s some info from the Des Moines Register on both of those events.I’ll actually be at the Muay Thai Classic (held at the Holiday Inn, 6111 Fleur Dr.) this weekend, one of the largest international muay thai events, and it’s open to the public.
There’s also a HomeShow Expo that begins this weekend – tour all the homes in a new development for $10. Or visit the historic home tour in the Drake Neighborhood. Or catch a car show at West Glen! Here’s a list of more Saturday events and Sunday events including live music, yoga, a flower market, bike ride and I-Cubs game!
If you’re the type that plans ahead more than a day or two, here’s some festivals over the next few weekends with LOTS of events: Funtastic Days in Grimes or Green Days in Johnston or the Des Moines Arts Festival, one of the best in the country.
