Research spotlight: Jodi Cahalan

Jodi Cahalan’s, Ph.D. first foray into research was as the principle investigator on a Bureau of Health Professions physician assistant training grant entitled Health Education Programs for Rural Areas.

Since that time, she has been involved in both quantitative and qualitative studies.Her dissertation was a qualitative study of women university presidents in dual-career families. Themes discovered during that research led to her continued work in the area of work-life balance.

Current projects

  • Using the data she obtained during her dissertation research and her continuing study of the area, Dr. Cahalan has developed and taught a one semester credit leadership seminar on balance and is scheduled to speak on this subject at a national conference this summer for The Association of University Programs in Health Administration in Chicago, as well as for a DMU alumni CME event.
