The third annual edition of Abaton, Des Moines University’s literary journal, will be available at World Food Prize (WFP) events this year.
This issue bears a global health focus with submissions from alumni, staff, faculty, students and the public. It also contains work by Ambassador Kenneth Quinn from the World Food Prize and Dr. Mario Merialdi, coordinator for maternal and child health at the WHO department of reproductive health and research.
The issue will be available at various World Food Prize events. Each issue also includes a CD by Iowan Simon Estes, internationally-renowned opera singer and adjunct professor of global health at DMU. The CD contains five songs and a few public health messages from Estes.
