Petersen is an assistant professor at Des Moines University in the doctor of physical therapy program. She is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association and a Certified Manual Physical Therapist. Petersen is currently a fellow in the Manual Therapy Fellowship program at Regis University where her focus is evidence-based orthopaedic manual physical therapy. In addition to manual therapy, her clinical and research interests lie in examination and interventions for patients with headaches and musculoskeletal spinal dysfunction.
