Every year DMU students and staff provide hours upon hours of community service, including many free physicals for school children.
DMU hosted a free physical fair earlier this spring and will host another in August of 2011. If you missed the one on campus, check out the Shalom Zone Health Fair on August 10, 2010, 1-7 p.m. at Casady School, 1801 16th St. in Des Moines. The event is free and includes school physicals with immunizations, vision & dental screenings, information about health insurance and even some school supplies. Kids must be accompanied by an adult and they must be checked in before 6 p.m. The DMU team will be seeing patients 4-7 p.m. that day.
