Professional background
I’m an Iowa native. I practiced in ear, nose and throat medicine and facial plastic surgery for five years, in dermatology for four years and in plastic surgery for five years before starting my own practice approximately four years ago. I provide dermatology services and minimally-invasive cosmetic procedures at Schooler Medical Professionals in West Des Moines, IA.
Favorite part of my job
I enjoy providing personal and individualized care of each and every patient whether he or she has a rash or a cosmetic procedure.
Why I stay involved with DMU
I enjoy the wonderful people I get to work with at DMU and on the board as well as the people I meet. The accomplishments we achieve are important for DMU but more important for the students and alumni.
Advice to those just starting out in the profession
Don’t let medicine consume your life. Figure out how to have a balance of work, family and spirituality.
Hobbies
Campfires, reading, pets and gardening.
