Des Moines University (DMU) was one of 97 schools chosen by The Chronicle of Higher Education’s new report “Great Colleges to Work For.”
Results were based on surveys of more than 42,000 employees at 277 colleges and universities around the United States. DMU was specially recognized in the categories of professional/career-development programs; compensation and benefits; facilities, workspaces and security.
“Getting such a great review from The Chronicle based on feedback from our own employees is wonderful. We are excited to receive this recognition and will continue to make this a place employees are happy to be,” said Interim DMU President Stephen Dengle.
Des Moines University has been surveying employees for years, participating in the “Best Places to Work for” program until this year. Each year the data is used to guide initiatives for improvement.
Great Colleges to Work For is one of the largest workplace-recognition programs in the country. Buena Vista University was the only other school in Iowa chosen.
