Friday kicks off my all-time favorite outdoor festival in Des Moines, The World Food Festival!! If you’ve read this blog for awhile, you know that means a lot – I love festivals & I love to eat! This event is held in the streets of the East Village. It runs 11 a.m-10 p.m. Friday & Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday. That’s quite a few meals if you’re counting….
There’s food booths from all over the world and every booth has something you can taste for $1! It’s completely free to attend and there’ll be music, cooking demos, dancing demos, nonprofit booths and shopping opportunities.
The weather this weekend is supposed to be gorgeous so you should make plans to spend a few hours downtown tasting your way around the festival! You may notice from the photo, last year it was a chilly weekend but people still came out and enjoyed.
