December 1 is World AIDS day. Wear red to show your support of AIDS awareness and recognize the millions living with HIV/AIDS as well as to remember those who have died. If you’re on campus, stop by the SEC Commons and pick up a red ribbon. Stay for a free presentation by the AIDS Project of central Iowa at noon.
Did you know that in October 2008 CDC estimated 1.1 million people were living with HIV infection in the U.S. at the end of 2006? This is an 11% increase since 2003, resulting largely from anti-retroviral treatment which greatly extends life.
