It’s the last weekend before Christmas and there are all kinds of fun things going on in Des Moines. If you’re still finishing up your holiday shopping, don’t miss the Downtown Farmer’s Market Winter Market. It’s this Friday and Saturday, inside Capitol Square and at Nollen Plaza, Friday, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Iowa Dance Theater is presenting The Nutcracker at the Civic Center, Saturday, 2 and 7 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m. Tickets are sold through the Civic Center.
If you’re feeling really ambitious, and don’t mind the cold, sign up for the 3rd annual Jingle Jog at Gray’s Lake, Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m.
Next week Mannheim Steamroller with be at the Civic Center on Monday and Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Don’t forget about Jolly Holiday Lights in Waterworks Park (through January 1) and outdoor ice skating at Brenton Plaza.
