Happy valentine’s day, lovely readers!
On this day of warm fuzzies and mushiness, let us be clear in how much we appreciate you all. Whether you are a student, staff member, grad, patient or friend of the University, we are thankful to have you in the DMU family!
Now remember to spend some time with those you love, be it significant other, sibling, parent, pet or friend. Even if you don’t get into the holiday, it’s a nice reminder to tell those you care about how you feel!
The plus side, health-wise, is that feelings of love triggers dopamine and hugging or holding hands releases oxytocin which reduces stress and blood pressure and improves mood! Also, it’s been said that feeling socially connected can be as good for your health as exercising and quitting smoking!
Go hug someone!
