With warmer months ahead of us, and a long cold spell behind us, it’s time to hit the trails!
It is now easier than ever to get to a local bike trail here in Des Moines and make your way to a number of different destinations. New maps of the central Iowa trail system have recently been created and can be found at city offices and bicycle shops around town.
Additions to the map include the Waveland Trail in Des Moines, the new Ankeny trail linking to the Neal Smith Trail, new bike lanes in Des Moines, the resurfaced Neal Smith Trail (Cottonwood Access to Big Creek), the trail linking Dawson and Perry and locations of water fountains and public restrooms.
