Some time ago, Des Moines yoga teacher Ryan Esdohr learned about the Wounded Warrior Project, a program that started as a way to provide comfort items to wounded service members and has since grown into a complete rehabilitative effort to assist warriors as they recover and transition back to back to civilian life. Compelled to help support the effort, Ryan created the Des Moines Yoga Bash, which will take place this Saturday, June 18, starting at 11 a.m. at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown, 700 Grand Avenue.
The event, which will combine power yoga with great music, is free, but participants will be encouraged to leave donations for the Wounded Warrior Project. Whether you love yoga or have never tried it, this is a great opportunity to enjoy a great workout while helping a wonderful cause. Don’t be intimidated – power yoga is fun and faster-paced than more mellow, meditative types of the exercise. Give it a try!
