DMU prof lands international appointment

Luke Mortensen, Ph.D.

Luke Mortensen, Ph.D., professor of physiology and pharmacology, was elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of the International Association of Medical Science Educators, a nonprofit professional development society. Organized and directed by medical faculty members, IAMSE was founded in 1997 on the guiding principle that all who teach the sciences fundamental to medical practice should have access to the most current information and skills needed to excel as educators.

IAMSE has members in more than 40 countries, including basic science and clinical medical faculty and members representing faculty from various other health care disciplines. Its past president is Edward Finnerty, Ph.D., DMU professor of physiology and pharmacology.
