CPMS Student Achievements

Several CPMS students have been rewarded for their leadership and excellence in podiatric medicine.

APMSA Leadership

Kyle Duncan, D.P.M. ’14, was named president-elect of the American Podiatric Medical Student Association at the APMSA House of Delegates Meeting on February 4 in San Antonio, Texas. We look forward to Kyle’s leadership.

Sports Medicine Scholarship Award

Jeff Weber, D.P.M. ’13, received the Robert Barnes Memorial Scholarship to kick off the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine Day on February 11. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a student demonstrating a commitment to advancing podiatric sports medicine.

Research Award

Lisa Grant, D.P.M. ’14, working with Dr. Simon Geletta, Katie Besselman, D.P.M. ’15, and Dr. Robert Yoho, received notice from the DMU Research and Grants Committee that the submitted proposal, Dissimilarity in Charcot Ankles versus Charcot Midfoot was awarded a grant in the amount of $9,620.

ABPS Professionalism Award

Emily Quinn, D.P.M. ’12, received the Michael L. Stone DPM Outstanding Professional Conduct Award sponsored by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS). The award was presented at the ABPS annual meeting held in conjunction with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons Annual Scientific Conference in San Antonio, Texas. The award includes a $2,000 honorarium.
