Current college students and working professionals interested in a career in health care are invited to Discover DMU. Visit the Des Moines University campus on Wednesday, June 27 to check out the graduate academic programs offered, talk to current students and tour DMU facilities. The open house runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Des Moines University is a medical and health sciences university offering nine graduate degrees. Visitors get a chance to see the lecture halls and hands-on labs around campus and attend a health professions fair. Discover DMU is targeted to prospective students, but academic advisors, parents and friends are welcome to attend.
The day gives visitors a front row view of the university, allowing them to examine the lifelike human simulators, sit in on a suturing session or laparoscope demonstration and experience the simulated clinical setting students train in before entering a real clinic. Demonstrations of osteopathic manual medicine are also ongoing throughout the afternoon.
To RSVP visit www.dmu.edu/admission/discover-dmu or for more information, call 515-271-1364. Attendance is free.
