Duffey joined Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming, MI, as chief medical officer. He is responsible for guiding and advocating for a medical staff of more than 500 physicians. Prior to joining Metro Health, Duffey served as chair and medical director of quality, safety and clinical innovation at Spectrum Health Medical Group in Grand Rapids, MI, and the division chief of pediatric hospitalists at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, also in Grand Rapids. He has also held positions as director of pediatric informatics for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, medical director and president at Principal Health PHO, and chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Holland Community Hospital. Duffey has served as a board member of SHMG, an assistant professor at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and clinical and faculty preceptor at Grand Valley State University. He was named Outstanding General Educator by the Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners and received the Community Service Award from Holland Community Hospital Foundation.  He is trained in health care delivery improvement and is certified in patient safety. He and his wife, Sandra Rose, and their children reside in Ada, MI.
