Des Moines University has invited Tim Wise, a prominent anti-racist writer and educator, to speak at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, in the Student Education Center Auditorium, 3300 Grand Avenue. He will present “Racial Health Disparities – A Closer Look,” discussing the importance of cultural competency in closing the disparities in health care.
Wise provides anti-racism training to teachers and health care professionals nationwide. He has authored six books and lectured internationally on the issue of racism in education, labor, religion and health care.
