Nelson joined the staff at Alton Memorial Hospital Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine in Alton, IL, in December 2012. She practices one day a week at the Wound Care Center and spends the rest of her week in private practice with Next Step Podiatry in Edwardsville, IL, and St. Louis, MO, where she resides. She completed a podiatric surgery residency at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis.
