Burt Routman, D.O.’68, FACOFP dist., received the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) at the organization’s annual convention and scientific seminars, March 21-24, in Las Vegas. The award recognizes an outstanding osteopathic family physician who has shown career-long service to patients, the profession and to ACOFP.

Routman is chair emeritus of family medicine at Lincoln Memorial University’s DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, TN, where he resides. He is past chair of ACOFP’s committee on education and evaluation, where he has served for more than 20 years. He is chair of the ACOFP program committee, which he has served since 2001. He also has served as program chair for past conventions of the ACOFP and the American Osteopathic Association.

Routman is the ACOFP representative to the Primary Care Organizations Consortium and a member of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners Case Development Committee for COMLEX-USA Level 2-PE.
