All members of the DMU classes of 1988, 1963 and earlier years
should prepare to be honored, exalted and celebrated in May: In a new alumni reunion tradition beginning this year, the University will signify these graduates with medallions – silver for the 25-year class and gold for the 50-year and earlier classes – and invite them to lead the Class of 2013 in the Commencement procession on Saturday, May 25.
“We want these distinguished alumni to feel like rock stars,” says Ronnette Vondrak, director of alumni relations. “Recognizing them during Commencement will honor their own graduation milestones and symbolize the lasting bond that all alumni have to each other and to the University.”
That’s just part of the party, however. Other reunion activities include a medallion ceremony and banquet; campus tours; a picnic for all DMU reunion attendees, 2013 graduates, students and faculty; a student panel discussion; and the commencement reception.
In addition to activities for medallion alumni, Vondrak invites other alumni to contact the alumni office to arrange reunion events for their class.
