Justin Bloomberg, a third-year DMU osteopathic medical student, received the 2013 Kathie J. Lyman $1,000 Scholarship Award from the Polk County, IA, Medical Society. Shown in the photo above with Lyman, the society’s executive director, he was presented the scholarship at the organization’s annual meeting Jan. 30, 2013.
The scholarship was created to recognize scholarly achievements and relieve financial needs of medical students from DMU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. The ongoing scholarship is a tribute to Lyman for her lifelong work furthering medical education.
