There is a lot less hair on the heads of DMU students and staff after SOMA’s St. Baldrick’s Day event last Thursday. Our VIPs, James Yacko (facilities) and Laura Stearns (DO ’16), were the first to lose their locks for the cause. Following their lead, countless others shaved or donated their hair in the event that lasted the entire afternoon.
It was such a fun event, and so many from the campus and community participated. In all, our DMU event has raised $19,901! That’s almost double our $10,000 goal! A super big thank you to all the hair donors and shavees, everyone who raised funds, and all those who donated. It was a great event, but the best part is the awareness that was raised about childhood cancer and the money that was raised to support research.
