Dr. de Regnier, FACOFP, was elected vice president of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) on March 21, 2013. The election took place in Las Vegas during the ACOFP’s 50th Annual Convention and Scientific Seminars. Dr. de Regnier is a board-certified family physician in private practice with Madison County Medical Associates in Winterset, IA. He also holds a certification from the National Board of Examiners for Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons. His professional interests include diabetes care and education, osteopathic manipulative medicine and geriatrics.

An Iowa native, Dr. de Regnier earned a B.A. in chemistry with a biology minor from the University of Northern Iowa. After earning his doctor of osteopathy degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, now DMU, he completed both an internship and residency in family practice at Des Moines General Hospital.

Dr. de Regnier has been a member of the ACOFP Board of Governors since 2006 and during the past decade has served on a number of ACOFP committees, including the federal legislation committee, policy and organizational committee, history and archival committee and the preceptor committee. He also was appointed by the governor to serve on the Iowa Health Systems and Plans Committee of Iowa Health Regulation Task Force as well as the Data Committee of the Community Health Management Information System. In addition to his work in private practice, Dr. de Regnier is adjunct professor of family medicine at DMU.
