In October 2013, Roth will receive the Meritorious Service Award of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Council. The award is presented to a member of the college who has served as a councilman for at least three years and in that capacity has made consistent contributions to the council’s growth and maturation. Roth was president of the Tennessee chapter of ACEP and continues to be an active board member. He has been working on changing the standard for care in medical malpractice reform and worked on the state committee on pediatric emergency care. He was instrumental in reviewing and changing the Tennessee chapter’s bylaws to conform to ACEP requirements and continues to work as an active provider in a major hospital in Nashville.
