Physiology and Pharmacology well represented at annual meeting

The 17th Annual Iowa Physiological Society Meeting was held on campus September 21 and the Physiology and Pharmacology Department was well represented. The department had nine poster presentations as well as two platform presentations given by Kim Tran, M.D., Ph.D., and Erica Thomas, M.S.B.S.’13, respectively.

In addition to these presentations, students from the Physiology and Pharmacology Department received awards for outstanding posters. Michelle Burgard, D.O.’16, won third place and Kevin Ehlers, M.S.B.S.’17, won first place for graduate poster presentations. Tran mentors both students.  In the undergraduate category, Drake University student Zach Kadow won first place. Zach is mentored by Matthew Henry, Ph.D.
