Karin Nowicki, surgical education coordinator, was named a finalist by the Technology Association of Iowa for its Women of Innovation awards. The awards celebrate women who are leaders in science, technology, education and math. A five-person panel selected 81 finalists in 11 categories. Nowicki is a finalist in the Rising Star category, which recognizes women early in their careers who exhibit great potential.
This is the sixth year of the Women of Innovation awards. Nominees span across a wide range of categories, including entrepreneurship, innovation, student work and champions of work in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on November 21 at Prairie Meadows Events and Conference Center.
