Beck was named a “Top Doc” in general surgery by DSM Magazine. The survey was conducted by polling actively-practicing physicians in greater Des Moines and results were published in the fall 2013 edition.
Beck has an extensive clinical and leadership background. She currently serves as medical director at the Frederick and Ann Katzmann Breast Center at Mercy Medical Center-Des Moines, and actively practices as a breast and general surgeon. She formerly served as chair of the department of surgery at Des Moines University and has a history of practice in minimally invasive general and bariatric surgery through Surgical Affiliates, Mercy Clinics Inc. She has held numerous leadership roles at Mercy, including serving as president of the medical staff.
Her areas of interest include women’s health, global health and surgical education. Beck has been a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons since 1999 and is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. She is board certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Surgery.
