College students and working professionals interested in a career in health care are invited to Des Moines University on Friday, April 4, for an interactive exploration of DMU’s graduate programs and campus. Discover DMU runs from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and includes student-led tours, lab demonstrations and a health professions fair.
The open house gives visitors a first-hand look at the University, allowing them to examine lifelike human simulators, observe a suturing session or laparoscope demonstration and experience the simulated clinical setting students train in before entering a real clinic. Demonstrations of osteopathic manual medicine are also ongoing throughout the afternoon.
Des Moines University is a medical and health sciences university offering nine graduate degrees. Discover DMU is targeted to prospective students, but academic advisors, parents and friends are welcome to attend. To RSVP, visit www.dmu.edu/admission/discover-dmu or for more information, call 515-271-1450. Attendance is free.
