Burt Routman, D.O.’68, FACOFP dist., this spring was named the Paul Grayson Smith Sr. Physician of the Year by the Tennessee Osteopathic Medical Association. Past Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association Physician of the Year and the recipient of the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP), Routman is professor and chair emeritus of family medicine at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, TN. In accepting his most recent honor, he said it “put the frosting on a 50-year career.”
