Grapes, Red Wine and Prostate Cancer

wine-pouringOn Friday, September 12, 2014, the Research Office presented the first session of this fall’s Friday Research Seminars Series. Hosted by the Microbiology Department, Dr. Yujiang Fang was asked to present some of his research. Dr. Fang joined the DMU Department of Microbiology and Immunology in December 2013 as an Academic Pathologist and Assistant Professor. He received his MD from Beijing Medical University in 1993, and completed his Ph.D. in 2000 through Peking Union Medical College. He has since become an established researcher in the world of natural chemicals and prostate cancer. He has published several manuscripts and is highly regarded as an expert in his field.

His presentation title, “Grapes, Red Wine and Prostate Cancer”, attracted many students, faculty and staff members, and even some outside individuals. In fact, the seminar was relocated from its original location to a lecture hall, to ensure there was enough seating for everyone! With over 60 people in attendance, the Friday Research Seminar Series is off to a strong start, and we look forward to the successful presentations in the future.

If you didn’t get the opportunity to attend Dr. Fang’s incredible presentation, you can still learn what he had to say here.
