Michelle Brown, a DMU physical therapist, in May supervised 16 students from DMU, Arcadia University, St. Louis University and the University of the West Indies as they participated in a stroke camp held quarterly in St. Elizabeth Parish, Jamaica. Patients were paired with two students and each day they rotated through four 45-minute stations for gait, balance, upper extremity and a free station. The student physical therapists collaborated to develop treatment plans at each station. DMU hosts a similar stroke camp on campus every March during spring break.
