Mindi Feilmeier, assistant professor in DMU’s College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery (CPMS), was elected chair of the Iowa Podiatric Licensure Board at its July 11 meeting. The board evaluates the qualifications of applicants for licensure; grants licenses to those who qualify; establishes rules and regulations to ensure the integrity and competence of licensed podiatrists, prosthetists, orthotists and pedorthists; and investigates complaints for unprofessional conduct.
Feilmeier also was among the authors of a research poster, “Observed Changes in Radiographic Measurements of the First Ray after Frontal and Transverse Plane Rotation of the Hallux: Does the Hallux Drive the Metatarsal in a Bunion Deformity?”, which she presented at the American Podiatric Medical Association’s annual scientific meeting July 24-26 in Hawaii. The poster took second place at the meeting in the single case study/series category. Other authors of the poster were:
