Thomas Benzoni, D.O., joined the DMU faculty in September 2014 as assistant professor of family medicine. He also continues to work as an emergency department physician in Iowa. Benzoni is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine. He’s had a long, distinguished career in emergency medicine in Detroit, Omaha, Kentucky and upstate New York before moving to Sioux City in 1994, where he helped found and direct the emergency department physician group at Mercy Medical Center. He also served on the Iowa Medical Society Board of Directors. Read some of his tales from the emergency department on page 14.
