Adam T. Van Der Molen, D.P.T.’13

Adam T. Van Der Molen, D.P.T.’13, was selected by the Iowa chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as a 2015 recipient of the Emerging Leader Award, established to annually honor individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary service to the profession and APTA early in their careers. He served the chapter as an alternate APTA delegate last year and later was elected a chapter delegate. He also was instrumental in serving on the chapter’s legislative committee for the past two legislative sessions. He helped champion the successful effort to have physical therapy classified as “primary care” services rather than its previous classification as “specialty care,” a change that may lower the co-pay amounts charged by insurance companies for physical therapy treatment. Van Der Molen is a physical therapist with the UnityPoint Clinic in Urbandale, IA.
