David E. Drake, D.O.’83, had an editorial published in the Des Moines Register on Oct. 31 titled “Where has the patient’s life gone in medical practice?” The editorial made a case for allowing physicians and other health care professionals to spend more time with their patients to provide better care and enjoy more satisfying professional lives. Drake is a private practice psychiatrist in Des Moines and a clinical professor at DMU.
