On Saturday, December 5 Des Moines University hosted its annual DMU President’s Society Holiday reception. Over 100 of DMU Founders Society and President’s Society members attended the 2015 reception at the Embassy Club, in the Ruan Center, located in downtown Des Moines.
This year DMU proudly inducted Bankers Trust, represented by CEO and President, Suku Radia and DMU alumni, Naresh Chandan, D.O.’92 & Ritu Chandan, D.O.’95 into its Founders Society. Gilbert S. Bucholz, D.O. was also recognized for his 39 years of service on DMU’s Board of Trustees as he transitioned to the DMU Emeriti Board of Trustees.
DMU student, Megan Kittleson, D.O.‘18 also shared what makes her DMU PROUD with attendees, “There are three things I feel as I look around this room: honored, humbled, and proud,” said Kittleson. “I feel DMU PROUD that the University strives to follow its mission by training selfless, compassionate individuals, just like all of you in front of me. Because of you, it has been made possible for DMU students to be molded into well-rounded health care providers that can make a big impact on the health care field.”
Overall, the reception was filled with appreciation and pride as DMU recognized its most prestigious donors for their generous contributions to the University over the past year.
The annual President’s Society Holiday Reception honors the distinguished members of the Founders and President’s Societies. Members of the Founders Society have contributed cumulative gifts of $100,000 or more to the University since the Annual Fund was established in 1995. President’s Society members consist of those donors who give $1,000 or more to the University annually.
