James Jarvis, PA-C’01, is one of only 220 certified physician assistants nationally to earn a specialty credential called a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). He was awarded a CAQ in emergency medicine, a distinction earned by meeting licensure, education and experience requirements and then passing a rigorous exam in the specialty. Approximately 1,000 certified PAs in the country have earned a CAQ since the program’s inception in 2011. Jarvise is employed by several of the Banner Medical Centers in Arizona.
