Thomas Martens, D.O.’98, M.B.A., was featured in the Corpus Christi (TX) Caller Times for becoming, in December, the fifth Texan and the final competitor to qualify for the 46th Geico Bassmaster Classic at Oklahoma’s Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees, the “Super Bowl of fishing tournaments.” The article further noted, “He was the rookie among Texas anglers competing in an exclusive field of 55. Across North America, thousands of other competitive fishermen dreamed of earning a coveted spot on this elite roster.” Martens is the chief medical officer for UTC Health and Rehab and the medical director of Serenity Creek Spa, practicing in Austin and Corpus Christi, TX. He also has a fishing charter business called The Bass Whisperer.
