The launch of health insurance marketplaces, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) and the broader shift in payment models from fee-for-service to value-based care have spurred provider health systems to explore a variety of risk models, including establishing Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and/or their own provider-sponsored health insurance plans (PSPs). What components and practices characterize the top performers among these plans? Join Deloitte Consulting and DMU’s master of health care administration (M.H.A.) program to find out with a keynote speaker and panel of local experts in the field.
The free event also will celebrate the M.H.A. program’s accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME), the only organization recognized to grant accreditation to individual academic programs offering professional master’s degrees in the field. This prestigious credential is the “gold standard” that assures students that DMU’s M.H.A. program has achieved the highest standards in its purpose, curriculum, the student experience and the success of its graduates in a competitive job market.
DMU’s M.H.A. program is in the top quartile of such programs in the U.S. and Canada and one of only two in Iowa that are CAHME-accredited.
The event will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 7, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in the Olsen Education Center on campus; the program will begin at 4 p.m. Speakers include Marc Scheinrock, M.B.A., partner with Deloitte; Eric Crowell, M.H.A., president and chief executive officer for UnityPoint Health-Des Moines; Michael Fay, HIA, MHP, vice president, health networks, Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield; and Robert Ritz, M.H.A., president of Mercy Medical Center-Des Moines.
Enjoy a lively discussion and networking. AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and 1.5 ACHE face-to-face credit also are available. Can’t attend in person? Join us virtually by clicking here (ACHE credit is not available to online attendees). Register via the DMU continuing medical education website or call 515-271-1596.
