Robert Suter, D.O.’89, M.H.A.’89, in January 2016 was presented by the U.S. Army with what he called “the opportunity of a lifetime – to take charge of the Army medical units in the Middle East as the commander of the 3d Medical Command (Deployment Support) – Forward Operational Command Post” (OCP). Long-committed to and involved in emergency services and operational military medicine, Suter deployed in September 2016 to settle into the OCP in Qatar at Camp As Sayliyah. He’s since traveled to Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq, Lebanon, Dubai, Afghanistan and other countries in U.S. Central Command. His travel includes educational exchanges and visits with his troops, who include every variety of health care provider and all supporting personnel.
