Kelli Freeman Roenfanz, D.O.’09

Kelli Freeman Roenfanz, D.O.’09, was featured in Minnesota State University’s Today Magazine on Jan. 17 for her academic and professional success after graduating from the university in 2005. She finished her career on MSU’s women’s basketball team ranked ninth in team history in scoring (1,083 points) while setting the school record for three-pointers made. She was Academic All-District First Team and received Academic All-America Second Team honors from ESPN the Magazine with her 4.00 grade point average as a biology and chemistry major. Roenfranz was selected as the recipient of the Georgene Brock Award as Minnesota State Mankato’s outstanding senior female student-athlete of the year in 2005, and she received a NCAA postgraduate scholarship. She completed a family medicine residency at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines and now practices with Avera Medical Group Lakes Family Practice in Spirit Lake, IA.
