Jeff Maire, D.O.’97, FACOS, FACS, in September became the first full-time general surgeon employed by Audobon County, IA, Memorial Hospital. He specializes in laparoscopic surgeries of the abdomen such as gallbladder removal and hernia repair, breast biopsies and mastectomies. He also provides wound management care and common procedures. Board-certified in general surgery, Maire completed his general surgery residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, MI, during which he also completed three elective rotations in pediatric surgery, cancer surgery and trauma surgery. He had spent the bulk of his medical career in Des Moines.
