Research celebrates successes in 2017

The Des Moines University (DMU) Office of Research (OOR) had a productive year in 2017. The key successes are contained in the infographic below.

Faculty and staff secured twenty externally-funded grants in the areas of mental health, prediabetes and diabetes, heart disease, comparative neuroanatomy, paleobiology, equipment acquisitions and student scholarships.

Of the 66 peer-reviewed publication and book chapters, 17 were book chapters, 34 articles were published, and 15 articles were in press. The 34 articles published were in a variety of journals including Journal of Biochemical Nutrition, Journal of Applied Physiology, Journal of Geriatric Physical Therapy, Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Medical Oncology, American Journal of Physical Anthropology, Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics, and Journal of Acute Care.

The diversity of the research grants and publications are indicative of the breadth of research interest among the faculty.
